·         Pengenalan
Perisian pemprosesan perkataan merupakan perisian aplikasi yang paling popular dan banyak digunakan dalam pekerjaan seharian. Antara perisian pemprosesan perkataan yang amat popular di pasaran ialah Microsoft Word, OpenOffice Writer, StarOffice Writer, Microsoft Works, Lotus AmiPro, WordPerfect dan sebagainya.
Persamaan ciri-ciri antara kepelbagaian perisian pemprosesan perkataan :
§  Menformat tulisan
§  Mengedit dokumen
§  Mencetak dokumen
§  Menyimpan dokumen
Kita akan lebih didedahkan dengan perisian pemprosesan perkataan Microsoft Word 2010 (MS Word 2010). Selain itu, ada juga berbagai-bagai keluarga Microsoft Office 2010 antaranya, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Outlook dan Microsoft FrontPage.

PROJEK 1 : Membina Surat
Langkah – langkah :

1.    Membuka Perisian MS Word 2010

a)    Klik pada Start > All programs > Microsoft Office > double klik Microsoft Word 2010
b)    MS word 2010 sudah terpapar dan dinamakan sebagai Document1

2.    Menentukan Jenis Fond an Saiznya

a)    Fon : Times New Roman
b)    Saiz : 12








3.    Menaipkan Nama Pengirim

a)    Taipkan nama pengirim dan penerima beserta alamat seperti berikut :

b)    Untuk menaip tarikh, tekan butang Tab pada papan kekunci ke tempat yang betul. Pilih ikon  (formatting).

c)    Format bagi paparan tarikh boleh menggunakan Date and Time. Insert > Date and Time.
d)    Kemudian taip perenggan pertama seperti yang anda kehendaki.

4.    Mengedit Perenggan pertama
Pilih tajuk perenggan pertama dan highlight perkataan tersebut. Change case > UPPERCASE.

5.    Mengedit perenggan kedua

Kita akan menggunakan fitur Bullets and Numbering. Klik pada Set Numbering Value > Start at tukarkan pada 1 kepada 2 > Klik OK.
Kelihatan nombor 2 berada di kedudukan yang salah. Jadi klik .

6.    Mengedit perenggan ketiga dan keempat

7.    Mengedit ayat penghabisan

8.    Membina garisan
Kita menggunakan (underlined) bagi ruang tandatangan.

9.    Menyimapan dokumen.
File > Save As > Surat Pengesanan Graduan

10.  Mencetak dokumen
File > Print.

PROJEK 2 : Membina Surat Menggunakan Kaedah Mel Cantum

A.   Membina dokumen Utama

1.   Buka fail Surat Pengesanan Graduan.doc Padamkan nama serta alamat penerima. Simpan sebagai Graduan Main.doc.
2.   Klik Mailings > Start Mail Merge > Step by Step Mail Merge Wizard.

B.   Membina senarai penerima

1.   Pada Select document type, pilih Letters dan klik Next : Starting document.
2.   Klik pada Use the current document > Next : Select recipients.
3.   Pilih Type a new list dan klik Create. Kotak dialog New Address List akan dipaparkan.
4.   Pilih Customize Columns > Filed Names. Hanya perlu Select dan Delete. Kemudian klik OK.
5.   Klik New Entry untuk memasukkan rekod seterusnya. Klik OK.
6.   Anda perlu simpan senarai ini dengan menamakannya senarai penerima dan disimpan dalam folder projek pengesana graduan.
7.   Fail senarai penerima akan dimpan dalam format Microsoft Access (.mdb). Sekiranya senarai penerima telah lama disediakan, pilih Use an existing list > Edit recipient list.
8.   Tambahan rekod baru. Hanya pilih Use an exiting list > Edit recipient list. Pada kotak dialog Mail Merge Recipients, dan highlight senarai penerima.mdb dan klik Edit. Pada kotak dialog Edit Data Source > New Entry > OK > OK OK.
9.   Pada kotak dialog, Edit Data Source > Customize Columns > Move Up atau Move Down. Ubah kedudukan Zip Code dan klik OK.
10. Klik Select All > OK > Next: Write your letter.
11.Klik Address Block > Insert Address Block.
12.Klik OK> {{Address Block}}.
13.Klik Next : Preview your letters.
14.Klik Next : Complete the merge.
15. Klik Print atau Edit individual letters.
